Ceramic tiles are a popular flooring alternative. They offer many benefits which have ensured their popularity remains high.
Glazed varieties have a protective surface layer offer protection against liquid, staining and moisture. These particular variations are therefore well-suited to areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and conservatories.
We were invited to deep clean this ceramic floor in Lytham. We were asked to clean the floor after our client had a new roof put on his conservatory. When the plasterers had been to complete the plastering work they had not covered the floor. This meant that plaster had landed on the tiles. When trying to clean the plaster from the surface of the tiles, it was then pushed into the grout lines.
The first image shows the floor when we arrived. The grout lines look white from this image. This was not grout and was actually the plaster dust and particles. After the tiles were cleaned, the actual grey-coloured grout came through.
Other benefits include:
The fact that ceramic tiles are very durable; they are hard-wearing, tough and difficult to crack.
Ease of maintenance; due to their finish, care for these type of tiles is straightforward. Dirt, particles and stains tend to sit on the surface of the tile so that they can be easily wiped or cleaned. Dry particles can be removed with a soft-brushed hover.
They are generally hardy to a variety of cleaning products also. However, it is always advised to see the advice of your local stone cleaning professional of which products are best to use for your floor.
There are many varieties of ceramic tile designs; this allows for a unique application and design. The tiles can be cut into shapes or designs and patterns can be mixed and matched.
